If you’ve ever looked at the backside of a beautiful tapestry, you’ll notice that there is a single thread that holds that vivid piece of art together. In the same way, when we read the Bible, we see a thread of grace, demonstrated most profoundly through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This thread of grace weaves our lives into God’s great story of love, as we are called to extend God’s grace to others – especially those who struggle with the challenges of material poverty.
At Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, we invite you to join us as we celebrate Jesus’ birth and honor him in this holy season through our Christmas Market, which financially supports life-changing ministries with the materially poor in Lake Highlands and beyond. The gifts that are available for purchase include supplemental meals for our neighbors in need locally and globally, camp scholarships for children and youth, Bibles, and much more. You are invited to buy one of these “gifts” in honor of your loved ones. We have a special card that you can share with them, which will explain the gift and the ministry that you have blessed in their name.
Let’s honor our loved ones and Jesus this Christmas by loving the people whom He loves Let’s weave the grace of Jesus Christ into the fabric of our community!
Grace and Peace,
Rev. Jill Jackson-Sears
