PLAN YOUR VISIT
What to expect when you join us on Sundays: your FAQs about visiting LHUMC.
We’re so glad you’re considering a visit to Lake Highlands UMC!
Here are answers to what most first-time guests want to know. If you have a question we didn’t cover, please reach out! Contact Gretel Roberts, Director of Spiritual Formation and Hospitality, at gretel@lhumc.com or 214-348-6600 x103.
What are Sunday mornings like at LHUMC?
We worship together every Sunday in the Sanctuary:
8:30 a.m. Traditional Service — hymns, liturgy, and classic worship elements
11:00 a.m. Combined Service — a blend of traditional and contemporary music and worship styles
Can’t join in person? We livestream weekly so you can worship from anywhere.
Where do I park and enter?
Our address is 9015 Plano Road, Dallas, TX 75238. The McCree Road parking lot is closest to the main Sunday entrances:
Entrance A – Sanctuary
Entrance B – Welcome Center & Children’s Wing
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and present. From jeans to Sunday best, you’ll fit right in.
Are children welcome in worship?
Absolutely! Kids are always welcome — wiggles and giggles included. Activity bags with crayons and kids’ bulletins are available in the back of the sanctuary. Childcare is also available for children ages 5 and under during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services.
Do you offer childcare?
Childcare for children ages 5 and under is offered during all Sunday morning activities. Park in the McCree lot, enter Entrance B, and go up the stairs to the Children’s Building. Our staff and volunteers will help you find the room for your child.
We require that grown-ups check in children into our system before the drop off. Check-in kiosks are available in the Welcome Center and Children’s Building. Pre-register your child to streamline check-in.
Questions? Contact Sally Maselunas, Director of Childcare & Children's Programming, at childcare@lhumc.com.
What children’s ministries do you offer?
We offer Sunday School classes each week at 9:30 a.m. for children infants through 6th grade. We also offer Activate Children’s Choir and Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, and various other opportunities throughout the year for your kids to learn and grow in their faith.
