FEED LAKE HIGHLANDS

Fighting food insecurity in our community

Feed Lake Highlands fights hunger and brings hope to neighbors living on fixed, limited, and low incomes.

Through food distributions at The New Room and partnerships throughout our community, Feed Lake Highlands helps nourish the body, mind, and spirit of our neighbors. Lake Highlands UMC is proud to support this ministry through food donations, volunteer service, and financial gifts.

DONATE TO THE FOOD PANTRY​

Help keep the pantry stocked with food and everyday essentials for our neighbors.

Drop off nonperishable donations in the buckets in the LHUMC Narthex, or bring donations to The New Room (10061 Whitehurst Drive, Suite 100) on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Current needs include:

  • Family-sized cereal

  • Peanut butter

  • Canned chicken and tuna

  • Canned fruit

  • Shelf-stable juice

  • Paper products

  • Personal and dental hygiene items

  • Cleaning supplies

 

Frozen meat is also needed, with no pork, please. Bring frozen donations directly to The New Room during Tuesday donation hours.

VOLUNTEER​

Give a few hours to help feed our neighbors! Volunteers help receive and organize donations on Tuesdays and prepare and distribute food on Wednesdays at The New Room (10061 Whitehurst Drive, Suite 100).

 

Most shifts are approximately two hours, with several times and roles available. View the signup to find an opportunity that fits your schedule.

 

Children ages 6–15 must serve alongside a parent or guardian. All volunteers under 18 must submit a minor volunteer waiver.

Enjoy a day of golf while supporting Feed Lake Highlands! Presented in partnership with Forerunner Mentoring, this inaugural tournament offers opportunities to play, sponsor, or volunteer.
