THE TABLE
A Quarterly Intergenerational Worship Experience

At Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, we believe faith grows stronger when generations grow together. The Table is a quarterly worship gathering that intentionally celebrates the beauty of intergenerational worship at LHUMC.
The Table brings children, youth, and adults together for worship and a shared meal, creating space for relationships, stories, and faith to grow across every stage of life.

WHAT MAKES THE TABLE UNIQUE?
The Table highlights three key elements of intergenerational Christian formation.

Intentional Intergenerational Worship
Research shows that children form stronger, longer-lasting faith when they worship alongside caring adults. While worship at LHUMC is always intergenerational, The Table intentionally focuses on this part of our church identity in a unique way.
Leadership for Kids and Teens
The Table prioritizes the leadership and participation of children and youth in worship, helping draw young people into full participation in the life of the church.
Sharing Meals and Stories
After worship, our church family gathers for a shared meal. Around the table, conversations begin, stories are shared, and relationships grow. These connections nurture spiritual growth and strengthen our church community.

WHY INTERGENERATIONAL WORSHIP MATTERS
Scripture and research both affirm that faith is formed in community across generations. When children, youth, and adults worship, serve, and share life together, the whole body of Christ is strengthened.
The Table creates intentional opportunities for these relationships to grow.
