WEEKDAY GROUPS

A JOURNEY THROUGH THE LETTER TO THE EPHESIANS

Tuesdays | 12 to 1 p.m. | LHUMC Library | Led by Rev. Andy Roberts

Join us for a verse-by-verse journey through Paul's letter to the church of the Ephesians. Together, we’ll uncover God’s eternal purposes, our identity in Christ, and how we’re called to live as the church of Jesus Christ. Each week, we’ll explore rich truths that strengthen our faith and deepen our understanding of grace. Whether you're new to the Bible or a longtime student, you'll find encouragement and insight in every session. Come grow in Christ, connect with others, and be transformed by God's Word!

DEEP ROOTS | THE SHAPE OF GRACE: EXPLORING JOHN WESLEY'S SERMONS

Wednesdays, June 17 through September 2 | 7 to 8 p.m. | Room A117 | Led by Rev. Colton Castle

Step into the heart of John Wesley’s theology through the words that shaped a movement. Join the Deep Roots class for this 12-week exploration of Wesley’s sermons—not merely as historical artifacts, but as living texts that empower faith, holiness, grace, and a vibrant Christian life today. His clarity, urgency, and pastoral concern make his preaching both accessible and deeply challenging.

All are welcome! Whether you're new to Wesleyan theology or returning with fresh questions, this study will invite you into Wesley's vision of grace woven through salvation, sanctification, and practical holiness. Come ready to wrestle with big ideas, deepen your faith, and consider what it means to live as the “people called Methodists” in the world today.

DISCIPLESHIP BANDS
A band is a group of three to five men or women who meet together weekly to support one another, pray for one another, and encourage one another to become the love of God for the world. For more details about what a band is, visit lhumc.com/groups or discipleshipbands.com.  If you are interested in starting a band, reach out to Rev. Andy Roberts, Senior Pastor at LHUMC, at andyr@lhumc.com

WOMEN'S SUMMER BOOK CLUBS

JOYFUL, ANYWAY BY KATE BOWLER

Wednesday, June 17 | 7 to 8:30 p.m. Bride's Room | Led by Lindsey Parker & Gretel Roberts

Honest and bracingly tender, Joyful, Anyway proves that experiencing joy does not depend on resolving everything that makes life difficult. Drawing on a decade of living with serious illness and a lifetime studying America’s obsession with progress, Kate Bowler shows why people so busy chasing happiness miss out on actual joy.

WHAT GROWS IN WEARY LANDS: ON CHRISTIAN RESILIENCE BY TISH HARRISON WARREN

Wednesday, July 15 | 7 to 8:30 p.m. Bride's Room | Led by Lindsey Parker & Gretel Roberts

How do we cultivate faith that endures? Tish Harrison Warren shares a fresh vision for navigating burnout and weariness through ancient Christian practices—guiding us toward lives of resilience, renewal, and flourishing.  Warren draws from both her own season of exhaustion and the rich well of Christian tradition to discover the habits and mindsets that anchor us in times of doubt, difficulty, and spiritual dryness. She offers hope to those who feel like life is overwhelming, taxing, and disorienting.

MEN'S GROUPS

THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Fridays | 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. | Parlor & Zoom | Led by Rev. Colton Castle & Rev. Andy Roberts

The book of Revelation is full of strange, lurid, and sometimes bizarre and violent imagery. Despite these interpretive challenges, Revelation offers one of the clearest visions of God's ultimate purpose for the whole creation, and of the victory of God's kingdom over the forces of evil through God's chosen people. We will explore the most misunderstood and provocative book in the New Testament, and be challenged to envision the Kingdom of God coming in all its glory and power.
