Do you have a heart to help others? If you do, please help us care for our church family.

Funerals are a unique opportunity to share the love of Jesus with our Lake Highlands UMC church family as well as with those people who have no church home.  In order for us to offer excellent care to those who are grieving, we are looking for help in the following areas:

  1.  Coordinators – This person serves as the host or hostess for the funeral reception.  This person could enlist other members of a Sunday School class or group to host the reception.  We are looking for one person from every Sunday School class as well as people who are willing to serve for those church members who are not connected to a group.  Training will be available on Sunday, November 13 following 11 AM worship in the Fellowship Hall.

  2. Cookie Brigade – This person is willing to make three dozen homemade cookies for a funeral reception.  Making cookies with your children is a great way to teach the importance of caring for others!  Teenagers could also make cookies for school service hours.  We are looking for fifty people, so that this opportunity can be shared.

  3. Clean-Up Crew – This person is willing to help put away tables, chairs, and trash after the funeral reception.
