Advent Study - The Mother of God: Recovering Mary for the Protestant Tradition
-
What: The Virgin Mary is arguably the most important woman who ever lived, a source of profound inspiration and instruction to generations of Christians across history. Even so, Mary rests uncomfortably in the Protestant tradition due to reactions against Roman Catholic theology during the Protestant Reformation. For many Christians, Mary is nothing more than a character in the Christmas story. Who is Mary? What can we learn from her life, this remarkable woman who held the very flesh of God in her body? Join us for this three-week Advent study to rediscover the beauty and significance of Mary, the Mother of God.
