The LHUMC food pantry is full thanks to the leadership efforts of Route 56 (5th and 6th graders) and the many people that brought food. We stock our pantries all year long...so please remember when you are shopping that we are always grateful for your support.

New Room After School Program - Our after school program is a safe place for school age kids to come on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We serve a snack, help with homework, play games, enjoy craft projects, tell a story from Scripture and apply it to our lives. Jill Goad at jgoad@lhumc.com

Annies Kids - Last year, with your generous support, Annie delivered clothing and gifts to over 300 children in the Lake Highlands Community. LHUMC & New Room Emergency food pantry - We maintain an emergency food pantry to support individuals and families who find themselves without food. Various canned food items are needed as well as volunteers to stock and distribute food. Jill Goad at jgoad@lhumc.com 214-348-6600 ext. 122
Austin Street Centre - The Centre's primary purpose is to offer emergency shelter and related services to the homeless person in a compassionate Christian community. Once a quarter, under the leadership of Chris Barnes, our church gathers and distributes meals at the Centre. Our next date to serve is Sunday, December 18th with food collection on Saturday, December 17th form 9 am til noon. Contact Chris Barnes at 972-849-9000 or mcbarnes@aol.com

Healing Hands - Healing Hands Ministries is our local community non-profit medical and dental clinic. Efficient, reliable, low-cost medical and dental treatment is being provided for over 2,400 patients. Healing Hands Ministries is always looking for passionate volunteers that are willing to give of their time and talents to serve our patients. All volunteers must attend orientation and pass a background check prior to serving. Volunteer orientation is held the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. The Network of Community Ministries, Inc. responds to human need by giving assistance with the goal of helping individuals achieve long-term independence. C.C. Young - In 1922, a charter was granted for CC Young Memorial Home, the first Methodist facility for the elderly in Texas. Today, CC Young continues to serve the elderly with a vision to provide a community where every life and every age is valued and enriched. Volunteers serve in a wide range of areas from teaching arts and crafts, helping with campus beautification to providing haircuts. UMCOR is working in more than 80 countries worldwide, including the United States. Our mission, grounded in the teachings of Jesus, is to alleviate human sufferingwhether caused by war, conflict or natural disaster, with open hearts and minds to all people. UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters that are interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own.
