Creating Churches Across LH

For more than a decade, Off-Campus Ministries has brought the Good News of Christ to apartment communities in the Lake Highlands area.  Off-Campus Ministries began in August 1995 for the purpose of establishing new worshiping congregations of Christians in locations outside the Lake Highlands United Methodist Church campus.  Planting seedling churches in multi-housing (apartment) communities is an effective and economical way to reach people beyond the walls of our church for Jesus Christ.  Our emphasis is on gathering people where they live, rather than building edifices where they will not gather.

Off-Campus Ministries is committed to winning souls for Christ while building long-lasting relationships with people in our neighborhood.  We rejoice over the new relationships that are formed and the different ways that we find to tell the story of God’s love.

Regardless of how the volunteers come to serve with OCM or what they expect to give, a common thread for all is that each has been struck with a similar revelation:  In seeking to win hearts for Christ, our volunteers have found their hearts have been won over by OCM community residents.  God’s blessings radiate in all directions.
